Ruby Carlisle — Ain't in a Hurry | Sessions on the Green®

Description

Ruby Carlisle — Ain't in a Hurry | Sessions on the Green® Ain't in a Hurry is a warm, gently uplifting Southern Soul song about discovering that life becomes richer when we stop racing through it. With quiet confidence, a touch of humour and a lifetime's perspective, Ruby Carlisle celebrates the freedom of taking each day as it comes. The lyrics unfold through familiar, everyday moments: a slow morning over coffee, neighbours exchanging greetings, children laughing in the street and an old man tending his roses. These small observations become a reflection on changing priorities, leaving behind the pressure to achieve, and finding contentment in simply being alive. Ruby's smoky, mature contralto brings warmth, character and understated emotional depth to the storytelling. Her relaxed, conversational delivery sits comfortably within a rich Southern Soul arrangement, where Hammond organ, Wurlitzer electric piano, melodic guitar, warm bass and restrained live drums create an irresistible, unhurried groove. Expressive instrumental passages allow the music to breathe, while gentle backing harmonies add warmth without disturbing its natural intimacy. There's wisdom here, but never a lecture. Just the reassuring voice of someone who has learned that peace doesn't come from winning life's race. Sometimes the sweetest freedom is knowing there's nowhere else you need to be.
